Making significant changes in routines, habits, and ways of doing things that have become second nature to you can be challenging. But when you discover that certain patterns of behavior are holding you back from making progress and bearing fruit, it is time to consider making an adjustment. There is a time to cast away things in life (Ecclesiastes 3:6) so that you can leave the past behind and reach toward the goal which lies ahead (Philippians 3:13).
Ditching ruts and embracing new challenges is not an easy prospect, but the goal of spiritual growth is well worth it and will bear good fruit in your life. Always remember that when it is time for a course correction, I will guide you along the best pathway for your life and I will advise you and watch over you (Psalm 32:8 NLT). I will go before you and I will be with you each step of the way (Deuteronomy 31:8).
So don’t ever feel that overcoming ruts or habits that are holding you back is not worth the effort. It is worth every ounce of effort spent, every tear shed, and every difficulty. It will propel you forward and help you to step outside your comfort zone and seek a better route—a new challenge in life. Whenever I lead you in a new direction, it will bring forth good fruit and work to fulfill My plan and purpose for your life.
